Pinguicula conzattii Zamudio & van Marm (2003) Topographic

Currently
known distribution area of P. conzattii in the
Sierra
Madre del Sur mountain range in the state of Oaxaca, east of the city
of
Putla de Guerrero.

Type
location of P. conzattii at an elevation of 2400 m.
Plants grow on vertical limestone cliffs in a tropical mountain cloud
forest.

plants growing at the type location. Depending on radiation and
genotype of the plant summer leaves can be either green or
reddish.

rosettes of P. conzattiiat
a location close to the summit of the pass at an elevation of about
2700 m. This species is flowering not only from the winter rosette but
also out of the summer rosettes.

plant in summer rosette growing in moss. Adult plants can reach a size
of 8 cm in diameter.

plant out of the the winter rosette. The still present summer leaves
are densely clothed in long white hair at the base of the leaf blade
(lamina) towards the leaf stem (petiole).

of P. conzattii with more obovate petals showing a
violet margin.

of P. conzattii can reach a size of up to 2,5 cm in
diameter.
Sometimes petals are wider than long.

pale violet or white petals with violet margin, some flowers can show
only a white coloration.

white or pale violet tube is relatively long and cylindrical.
At
the end of the tube there is a green subcylindrical spur
that forms an obtuse angle with the tube.
